Polyurethane sealant is mainly used in buildings, automobile manufacturing, glass installation and other industries,is a sealing material.Polyurethane sealant tensile strength, elasticity, wear resistance and so on are better.
1.The classification of polyurethane sealant
Polyurethane sealant is generally divided into two basic types, one component and two components, one group is divided into reaction consolidation type.Single component sealant is easy to construct, but curing is slow; The two components have the characteristics of fast curing and good performance, but they need to be prepared when used, and the process is more complicated.
According to whether there is fluidity, polyurethane sealant can be divided into non-sagging and self-leveling. The non-hanging type is used for vertical, inclined, ceiling and other occasions, and will not offset, slide or flow due to the weight of the rubber strip before curing; The self-leveling type is designed for horizontal applications. According to the nature of use can also be divided into dry type, semi-dry type and full curing elastic type.
2.The application of polyurethane sealant
The main use of polyurethane sealant is civil construction, transportation and so on. For example, in Japan, about 75 to 80% of polyurethane sealant is used in construction, 15% is used in automobile, machinery manufacturing, etc., and 5% is used in civil engineering and other aspects.
Specific applications in construction are: The connection of building materials such as concrete prefabricated parts and the filling and sealing of construction joints, the sealing and caulking between the wood frames of doors and Windows and the concrete walls, the bonding and caulking of lightweight structures on buildings (such as curtain walls), the waterproof caulking of balconies, swimming pools, bathrooms and other facilities, the sealing of air conditioning and other system joints, the sealing of insulating double glazing and the sealing of insulating window frames, etc.
The applications of polyurethane sealant in automobiles are: assembly and sealing of Windows (mainly windshield glass), assembly of body and other components.
In civil engineering, polyurethane sealant is used for caulking sealing of flexible joints such as high-grade roads, Bridges, airstrips, and concrete, pottery, PVC and other materials such as sewers, underground gas pipelines, wire circuit pipelines and other pipeline joints, sealing of subway tunnels and other underground tunnel joints.
Polyurethane sealant can also be used for flexible joints of cables (such as underground cables) and pot-sealing of electronic components to prevent dust and earthquake. Used for thermal insulation system such as refrigerated truck, cold storage insulation layer and low temperature container bonding and sealing.
