How to use the good quality polyurethane sealant?

Polyurethane sealant is widely used, such as in buildings, bridge projects, and other environments. However, regarding the main construction methods of polyurethane sealant, many construction workers still don’t know how to do it!

1. Cutting of construction joints: Use a cutting machine to cut the construction joints according to the design plan, use a hair dryer, brush, shovel and other tools to remove dust and debris in the joints, and fully dry them;

2. Laying of cushioning materials: Lay polyethylene foam strips slightly larger than the construction joints in the construction joints, and the depth depends on the construction situation;

3. Construction: Load the road polyurethane sealant into the grouting equipment, and insert the sealant outlet hose into the bottom of the construction joint to inject the grouting sealant into the construction joint;

4. Reserve gaps: Because the construction joints will expand and contract with temperature changes, the surface of the polyurethane sealant should be lower than the road surface after construction, 2-3mm in summer and 1-2mm in winter.;

5. The time for polyurethane sealant to lose adhesion is about 6 hours in summer and about 12 hours in winter.

6. When storing polyurethane sealant, you also need to pay attention to the following: seal and store in a low temperature, dry place. It is recommended to store it in an environment with a temperature of 5~25℃ and a humidity of ≤50%RH. It is forbidden to store it in an environment with a temperature higher than 30℃ or a humidity greater than 80%RH.
