The inherent defects of solvent-based products are basically the same: during construction, solvents are harmful to the human body; they pollute the environment; indoor environmental emissions exceed the standard; they are flammable and inconvenient to transport. Limited by the chemical industry technology at that time, the mechanical properties of such products were average, so there was no highlight.

The second generation of wood floor adhesive - emulsion type

This type of product has low emissions and does not require special protection during use. The emission of harmful substances can reach the European EC-1 level. However, this type of product is water-based, contains a lot of water, and has average bonding strength. It is not suitable for moisture-sensitive wood, but only for small square parquet flooring.

The third generation of wood floor adhesive - two-component polyurethane type

This type of product has excellent bonding strength, few harmful substances, and basically no physical and chemical hazards after curing. The emission of harmful substances can reach the European EC-1R ultra-low emission level. It is suitable for all solid wood floors, solid wood composite floors (including high-end two-layer and three-layer solid wood composite floors), parquet floors, bamboo floors, etc.

The disadvantage is that this is a two-component product, which is inconvenient to use. It must be stirred evenly with an electric stirrer before use, and the stirred adhesive must be used within 10-20 minutes. If a small amount is stirred, it needs to be weighed with a measuring tool. In addition, component B is diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), which is a low-toxic substance and harmful to construction workers. The on-site environment must be ventilated.

The fourth generation of wood flooring adhesive-single component polyurethane

The main component of this type of product is NCO-terminated polyurethane prepolymer, which is ready to use and easy to use. The harmful emission can reach the European EC-1R ultra-low emission level, and the harm to construction workers is minimal.

This product has many advantages, such as extremely excellent mechanical properties and extremely high bonding strength. It is suitable for all wood floors, including solid wood floors, multi-layer solid wood composite floors, parquet floors, bamboo floors, etc.

The disadvantage is that the shelf life of this product is generally not long. The curing mechanism of this type of product is moisture curing, so the packaging must be very sealed to prevent moisture. Despite this, the storage time at high temperature is still relatively short, generally only 6-9 months.

The fifth generation of wood floor adhesive - MS wood floor adhesive

This type of product has extremely excellent mechanical properties, good weather resistance and high temperature resistance, single component moisture curing type, ready to use. It has ultra-low emissions and can meet the latest EU EC-1RPlus standard. When curing, this type of product only emits a small amount of methanol or ethanol vapor and a small amount of water vapor, which can be called the most environmentally friendly indoor adhesive in the world.
