Its performance is also one of the factors that monitor the safety of glass curtain walls, so performance testing is an indispensable link.

At present, the commonly used methods for testing the performance of curtain wall structural adhesives include: direct sampling method, applying external force to measure strain, and applying excitation to measure changes in physical parameters.

 

The direct sampling method requires the destruction of aluminum materials and structural adhesives for sampling, which has shortcomings such as operational difficulties; the method of applying external force to measure strain and the method of applying excitation to measure changes in physical parameters cannot detect the tensile strength of structural adhesives and cannot evaluate the performance of structural adhesives. These commonly used testing methods have certain limitations.

Now, our country has developed a new method - the rebonding method, which is relatively simple, easy and reliable. The rebonding method is to directly sample the existing curtain wall structural adhesive, make H-shaped test pieces of a specific size, and use a universal tensile machine to test data such as tensile strength and elongation. Compared with traditional measurement methods, the rebonding method still has some merits:

 

1. Can detect the tensile strength of curtain wall structural adhesive

The tensile strength value of the existing curtain wall structural adhesive can be obtained by preparing and then bonding H-shaped test pieces and using a universal tensile machine to test the tensile strength and maximum strength elongation of the silicone structural adhesive.

2. The test results can be used as a basis for the safety of structural adhesives.

The tensile strength obtained by bonding the H-shaped test piece can be compared with the existing national standards for silicone structural adhesives to determine whether the structural adhesive meets the usage requirements.

 

3.Can detect hollow glass sealant

It overcomes the limitation that traditional methods cannot detect hollow structural adhesives. It can directly sample and test hollow structural adhesives to obtain relatively accurate data such as the tensile strength of hollow structural adhesives.

 

4. Can detect brittle structural adhesives

Structural adhesives that have become brittle and aged in existing curtain walls can also be sampled and prepared by the rebonding method to prepare H-type test pieces. The tensile strength of the brittle structural adhesives can be obtained to evaluate the aging performance. The obtained maximum strength elongation can be used as an evaluation reference indicators.

The rebonding method can be used to test the performance of existing curtain wall structural adhesives. The test method is relatively simple. The test results can be used as an important basis for evaluating the performance of existing curtain wall structural adhesives. It is of certain significance to the reliability evaluation and identification of existing curtain walls.
