The importance of selecting two-component silicone sealant for secondary sealing of insulating glass
With the rapid development of science and technology, insulating glass has been integrated into our lives. When you go out, you can see insulating glass everywhere, such as commercial office buildings, large shopping malls, high-rise residential buildings and other buildings. The secondary sealant of insulating glass plays an important role in ensuring the structural stability of insulating glass.
If the secondary sealant of insulating glass is selected incorrectly, it will bring about two major hazards: one is the loss of the use function of the insulating glass, that is, the original function of the insulating glass is lost; the other involves the safety issues of the application of insulating glass, namely The outer piece of insulating glass fell.

Secondary sealant for insulating glass can be divided into structural sealant for insulating glass and elastic sealant for insulating glass according to whether it is suitable for structural assembly. The reason why the outer piece of insulating glass fell was that the insulating glass secondary sealant was not selected and used according to the specifications. The secondary sealant for insulating glass generally uses silicone sealant, polysulfide sealant and polyurethane sealant. However, due to the poor UV aging resistance of polysulfide sealant and polyurethane sealant, if the bonding surface with the glass is exposed to sunlight for a long time, it will Degumming occurs. Therefore, the only structural sealant for insulating glass suitable for the second sealing of structurally assembled insulating glass units can only be silicone sealant. If silicone insulating glass structural sealant is not used in hidden frame or semi-hidden frame curtain walls, but silicone insulating glass elastic sealant or polysulfide rubber is used, it is likely to cause the outer piece of insulating glass to fall.
It is recommended that all customers choose the right products. If you pursue low prices and ignore the correct application and quality assurance of the products, it may lead to quality problems in curtain wall doors and windows, and even cause major safety accidents.
