Polyurethane sealant is a type of sealant that is used in large quantities today. It can bond well with metal, concrete, glass, etc., and has a very long service life. If it is not exposed to sunlight for a long time, the life span can be as long as 20 years. Moreover, polyurethane sealant has good weather resistance, is environmentally friendly and non-toxic, and can be used with confidence both indoors and outdoors. Today we will introduce an upgraded version of polyurethane sealant - polyurethane water-swelling water-stop sealant.
Polyurethane water-swellable water-stop sealant, also called P201 water-stop sealant, not only has the advantages of traditional polyurethane sealant, but also has the performance of water-swelling. Water-swelling water-stop sealant can generally be divided into two types: PJ220 and PJ400. Its testing standard is JG/T-312. Compared with the testing standard for single-component polyurethane sealant (JC/T-482), the main difference is that Improved water expansion rate and water pressure resistance. The water expansion rate of pj220 is more than 2.2 times, and the water pressure resistance is 1.5MPa. The water expansion rate of PJ400 is more than 4 times, and the water pressure resistance is 2.5MPa.

The synthesis of water-swelling water-stopping sealant is based on polyurethane prepolymer and combined with urethane paste containing special grafting technology. It has dual water-stopping properties of elastic sealing and water-swelling water-stopping. . Because it contains urethane connecting chains with special grafting technology, it will not cause the loss of water-swelling elements during long-term use, thus greatly increasing the service life. The water-swelling water-stopping sealant can be constructed in humid environments (open water is not allowed), and has good acid and alkali corrosion resistance. Hydrochloric acid, seawater, sodium hydroxide and other media will not cause the water-swelling water-stopping sealant to lose its effect.
Water-swelling water-stop sealant can be widely used in subway tunnels, highway and railway tunnels, sewage pools and other fields. In view of its good environmental performance, it can be directly used in direct drinking water projects such as water plants and reservoirs. The construction of water-swelling water-stop sealant is relatively simple. The first step is to clean the construction joints. Just clean up the obvious dust and concrete particles. There are no strict requirements for wet and dry conditions, as long as there is no open water. . Then install the sealant gun and apply sealant. What you need to pay attention to is the size of the sealant nozzle opening. It should be cut according to the size of the gap. If it is too large, it will cause waste, and if it is too small, it will not be able to block the gap well. The last step is to apply sealant, and drive the sealant into the construction joint. If it is for home use, you need to paste seam paper on both sides of the gap, and then peel it off after applying sealant. After the sealant is driven into the construction joint, contact with water needs to be avoided until it solidifies.
