In daily life, sealant, an inconspicuous auxiliary material, is easily overlooked by everyone. However, we only realize its importance when the glued parts such as toilet bowls, countertops, and glass at home turn yellow and become moldy.
What should you pay attention to when choosing kitchen and bathroom sealant?
1. As a product for indoor use, sealants should first be green and environmentally friendly and not harmful to human health.
2. The sealants used in kitchens, bathrooms, doors and windows are often in contact with water, so they are required to have good water resistance.
What should I do if the sealant in the kitchen and bathroom becomes moldy? ?
Edge sealing of shower rooms, sanitary ware, bathtubs, wash basins, sinks, bathroom countertops, kitchen countertops and basements. Due to the humid environment, the sealants used in these areas need to be waterproof. Ordinary waterproof sealants are prone to mold, blacken, and breed bacteria in such an environment, so mildew-resistant sealants should be selected. The selected anti-mildew sealant should comply with the requirements of JC/T 885-2016 "Anti-mildew Sealant for Construction". It is recommended to choose level 0 anti-mildew sealant.

Popular science on anti-mildew levels
Level 0 mildew resistance: no obvious mold growth under a microscope magnified approximately 50 times
Level 1 Mildew Resistance: Mold growth is invisible or difficult to see with the naked eye, but obvious mold growth can be seen under a magnifying glass.
Level 2 mildew proof: mold growth can be clearly seen with the naked eye, covering 10%-30% of the sample surface area
Whether it is the joint between the bathroom toilet and the floor, the sealing around the bathroom tub, or the waterproofing treatment on the edge of the kitchen sink, anti-mildew sealant is needed.
