In home decoration, waterproofing is an indispensable part, whether outdoor or indoor.

The use of waterproof coating is to apply waterproof coating on objects by using professional equipment, but the construction method is different due to the different types and properties of coatings. Blind construction will lead to unsatisfactory results. For different construction objects and waterproof materials of different properties, we will adopt different construction methods to obtain the best coating quality.

We will introduce several common waterproof coating construction methods.

Scraping method

The scraping method is to use tools such as fiberglass scrapers, horn scrapers, plastic scrapers, rubber scrapers, etc. to evenly scrape thick waterproof coatings on the waterproof base to form a waterproof coating film with a thickness that meets the design requirements.

Mainly for waterproof coatings with poor fluidity, the construction thickness is 1.5mm. During scraping and coating, the paint is generally poured directly onto the roof base, and then scraped back and forth with a scraper to make it uniform in thickness, without exposing the bottom, without bubbles, and with a smooth surface, and then wait for it to dry.

Roller method

Roller method is a widely used construction method in building coating. Roller coating saves time, effort, and is easy to operate. When coating on a large flat surface, the efficiency is twice as high as brushing. Masonry surfaces, concrete surfaces, plastered surfaces, embossed decorative surfaces, metal mesh, perforated sound-absorbing panels and other surfaces are suitable for roller method

Rollers can be divided into long-hair, medium-hair and short-hair rollers according to their functions, and there are also special rollers such as flower rollers. Usually, long-hair rollers have a large amount of paint and a thick coating film, but the paint film is easy to form a large orange peel pattern and produce more bubbles; short-hair rollers have a smoother paint film and a better appearance; medium-hair rollers are between the two. At present, medium and short-hair rollers are usually used more. Flower rollers can produce different flower effects. When using a roller, a roller tray must be used in conjunction.

Brushing method

The brushing method usually uses a roller brush or a brush. It is mainly used for waterproof coatings with good fluidity and thin construction thickness. The construction thickness is usually 1.5mm, and it is brushed to the base layer in 2-3 times.
